Times change...decided to sell my C50

So, after nearly 5 years and 40,000 miles together I have decided to sell my C50.  When I bought the bike I was in the midst of a separation and eventual divorce and the bike was my therapy…helped clear the mind of the cocktail of bitterness and negativity.  It was effective therapy!  The C50 was a much better partner than what’s-her-name, much more fun, and cost me a whole lot less.  My current relationship is even partly due to the C50.  But as many of you know, I barely rode last year…only putting 4,000 miles on the bike.  May seem like quite a few to some, but nearly all of that was from two weekend rally trips.  I even had two Iron Butt rides (1,000 miles in 24 hours), so 2 days accounted for half my miles for the year.  This past year, much of my time was spent on home projects, and dealing with my dad’s and girlfriend’s health problems.  Riding is certainly not the priority in my life right now.

I will miss the bike; she was the perfect bike…that is, up until the week I joined the Volusia Riders site.  Then I learned about all the "mods" and accessories I "needed" to make it even better.

We went a lot of places and spent a lot of miles together…I know I will miss the bike, and at times may even regret selling it.  I never dropped her, but I did scrape off a few sets of floorboard bolts, bent a set of Cobra bars, had a few flat tires, dragged her down an occasional dirt road, and rode her hard and put her away wet many times. But she was always good to me.

Made so many good friends and met more good folks than I can list.

Of course, just because I don’t think I need therapy anymore, and I have higher priorities, doesn’t mean a guy can’t still have some fun. Heck, I’d even think about keeping her…if only there was room in the garage. Seems there’s only room for two bikes in the garage right now…his & hers. And his is going to be this one for now...

Brand new 2009 Yamaha Stratoliner (1900 cc)....found a deal across state that was just to good to pass up -- that's my rationalization, and I'm sticking to it. I wasn't ready to retire to a "luxury" cruiser, nor did I have the wallet for it, but found this one for about $6k off sticker...cheaper than some used ones I had found. Only got a few miles on her so far, but absolutely love it. And after a few mods...she'll be perfect too. I didn't bother waiting to dislike the stock seat, so I ordered my Mustang the first day. Now I just need to get back out and ride more.
